Dr Samuel Bongers provides anaesthesia for a wide range of surgical specialties. He aims to minimise stress at a time when patients can feel vulnerable. He takes great care in tailoring the best anaesthesia for each individual, based on their current medical conditions and previous experiences.
Dr Bongers shares his time between River City Anaesthesia and Princess Alexandra Hospital. He is also an Associate Lecturer with The University of Queensland School of Clinical Medicine.
Dr Bongers has worked at the Mater Mothers’ Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital, Toowoomba Hospital, Mater Adult Hospital, and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
He has achieved a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in the field of Biomedical Science, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), and a Diploma of Fellowship, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA), with a focus on upper gastrointestinal surgery.
Dr Bongers is also a member of the Australian Society of Anaesthetics (ASA) and Australian Medical Association (AMA).
