Dr Eliza Doneley uses her extensive knowledge and experience to provide anaesthesia for various surgical subspecialties. She has a clinical interest in general surgery, gynaecology, gynaeoncology, obstetrics, orthopaedics and trauma. She values the opportunity to support patients during the preoperative phase and enjoys working in a field of medicine that combines elements of physiology and pharmacology.
Dr Doneley graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) in 2003 from the University of Sydney, and later, a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 2008 from Griffith University. In 2016, she completed a Graduate Certificate in Flexible Learning and Simulation for Health Professionals at the University of Tasmania and became a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
Dr Doneley undertook her anaesthetic training in Queensland, working at the Townsville Hospital, the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, the Royal Children’s Hospital, and Prince Charles Hospital. She completed her fellowship in education and simulation. She has since worked at Redcliffe Hospital as an Anaesthetic Staff Specialist and now currently at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
As part of her work with the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Dr Doneley is responsible for training medical students from the University of Queensland currently undergoing their anaesthetic rotation. She has also been an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland since 2016 and continues to provide exceptional education, training and mentoring to her students.
